A stimulating environment catered to the distinctive creativity of autistic children within Qatar’s educational institutions.

About the project

An educational & recreational center that plays a crucial role in advancing autistic children's awareness and acceptance in the country, fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment for those children affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Design Concept

Inspired by the natural organic shapes and forms of the unique species

​

concept carefully developed to provide and foster autistic children. Inspired by the graceful and protective stingray, this concept smoothly blends nature and organic shapes to provide a sensory-friendly atmosphere for children.

Target users

Children from 3 to 13 years old Children at that age can effectively grow and develop their cognitive abilities and enhance their sensory experience.

Engaging sensory experinces, such as incorporating an interactive elements that encourage tactile exploration, auditory stimulation, and visual engagement.

Key spaces that are important to consider

Activity room:

This sensory, motor, and life skills room is designed to be a haven for children with autism. It is semicircular in shape and designed in a soothing color scheme of 60% earth tones, 30% mild blues, and 10% refreshing greenery.

 

Designed to foster each child's journey through visual, tactile, and interactive activities, it's a place where calm meets discovery. A sanctuary for study, creativity, and personal development, this place is filled with calming hues and natural features.

the library is to provide a quiet, soothing environment that supports individual exploration and relaxation, away from the more active areas of the center. It's not just a place for reading but a sensory retreat where children can feel safe and undisturbed.
